Evie Emberson is a computer hacker who is secretly in love with her brother’s best friend, Aiden “Ace” Hayes. However, she has been off-limits to him since the day they met. Despite this, Ace is always by her side, providing protection, because, due to her brother’s gang affiliations and the deaths of her parents years ago, Evie’s life is often in danger. Aiden’s loyalty lies with Evie’s brother Rook, but he would protect Evie no matter what, even if not ordered to do so. Investigating the circumstances surrounding her parents’ deaths and uncovering details about their past lives, Evie finds more questions than answers. Adding to this, a mysterious figure lurks in the shadows, bringing new threats to her and those around her. Evie has two main objectives: first, to solve the mystery of her parents’ deaths and uncover their true identities, and second, to persuade Aiden to give in to his feelings for her, despite his agreement with her brother.
